I have heard talk of The Pillowman for years. Ok, not talk. Whispers. This play seems shrouded in mystery and myth. I have not seen the play performed, and after reading it, I'm not sure if I want to. The scenes are very intense, but also, there is quite a good bit of storytelling going on here, which is conducive to reading. I find it amazing that McDonagh not only conjured up this brilliant play, but also the brilliant dark fairy tales that are told within it. It is so effective though.WhileI starred in this as the first female in history ever to play Tupolski. The best screenplay I've ever read.
Absolutely brilliant doesn't begin to describe it.

Fucked up and awesome.
Haven't read a play in forever and this one was dark and morally twisty (and loved by a few friends who recommended it). The Pillowman only takes a couple of pages to get PULLED in and then I felt like I was dragged through the muck and unstable violence of it all. Crazy stuff.
Feels highly experimental; question of multiplicity of voice like. I'd (still) love to stage this.
Dramaturģiski viss kā pēc rokas grāmatas + literāra vērtība. "Might be the last sleep we get ever. Wouldn't that be terrible? I love sleeping. Do you think they have sleeping in Heaven? They bloody better, else I'm not going."
