Description Conducive To Books The Face of Death (Smoky Barrett #2)

In Shadow Man, Cody McFadyen took the suspense thriller where other writers have feared to tread. He introduced readers to a heroine every bit as dark and edgy as the serial killers she hunts: Special Agent Smoky Barrett. Now, in his latest novel, McFadyen brings Agent Barrett back to track down a killer who breaks all the rules. Get ready for a shattering confrontation with the very essence of human evil.

I want to talk to Smoky Barrett or I'll kill myself.

The girl is sixteen, at the scene of a grisly triple homicide, and has a gun to her head. She claims The Stranger killed her adoptive family, that he's been following her all her life, killing everyone she ever loved, and that no one believes her.

No one has. Until now.

Special Agent Smoky Barrett is head of the violent crimes unit in Los Angeles, the part of the FBI reserved for tracking down the worst of the worst. Her team has been handpicked from among the nations elite law enforcement specialists and they are as obsessed and relentless as the psychos they hunt; they'll have to be to deal with this case.

For another vicious double homicide reveals a killer embarked on a dark crusade of trauma and death: an artist who's molding sixteen-year-old Sarah into the perfect victim - and the ultimate weapon. But Smoky Barrett has another, more personal reason for catching The Stranger - an adopted daughter and a new life that are worth protecting at any cost.

This time Smoky is going to have to put it all on the line. Because The Stranger is all too real, all too close, and all too relentless. And when he finally shows his face, if she,s not ready to confront her worst fear, Smoky won,t have time to do anything but die.

Appraise Regarding Books The Face of Death (Smoky Barrett #2)
A man Sarah calls The Stranger took control of her life on her sixth birthday. Now Sarah is 16 years old, sitting in the middle of a horrific crime scene, again. She holds a gun to her head and says she will talk to only FBI Agent Smoky Barrett. No one believed her last time, but she's going to make damn sure someone believes her this time.Smoky's team from the first book is here, except for Leo. Perhaps he saw "too much" on the last case. Callie and Alan are like old friends, and James remains

Liked it better than book 1 even. Something about this series, the writing and the characters that makes me keep reading.

This book is just like the 1st in the series.. Excellent story, some "gory" details (if you are a fan of Chris Carter, they are very similar like that) And AGAIN the only reason why I dont give it a 5 star rating is because of the "I" writing, were Smokey just "know", thats kind of over the top.But if you are a fan of crime with details, dont cheat yourself, read this :D

OUSTANDING SEQUEL!!!!With Smoky's first person narrative & Sarah's creepy, eerie diary excerpts, add in a great cast of characters, and this thriller is not your average serial killer norm!Blew my mind away....AGAIN! This was another fast paced page turner....Cody McFadyen is absolutely brilliant! Like Shadow Man, this story gripped me from the get go and the ending was as shocking as it was tragic. This was a graphic, troubling story....but Smoky is a classic spunky heroine with a first rate

I am completely impressed with Cody McFadyen. He is a creative writer. I know that the genre of serial killers is kind of a strange thing to enjoy reading, and that there could be a formulaic banality or redundancy. So it is even more satisfying to see someone attempt and succeed at rising above the mediocre and run of the mill thriller. This is his second book and it is brilliant, compelling (I finished it within three days), surprising, deep, rich and intense. There are aspects of the story

For full review - The Limit of Books Does Not ExistThis is a book that will not be for everyone. This is a book that is scary and horrible and upsetting. Im a huge fan of mysteries and thrillers and there were nights that I couldnt read this novel before I went to sleep because I didnt want to go to sleep upset. Its a tough, tough read. The first thing that I loved about the novel (and the series) is the cast of characters. Each character is flawed and scarred both physically and mentally. Put
