Narrative Concering Books The Sicilian (The Godfather #2)

After Mario Puzo wrote his internationally acclaimed The Godfather, he has often been imitated but never equaled. Puzo's classic novel, The Sicilian, stands as a cornerstone of his work--a lushly romantic, unforgettable tale of bloodshed, justice, and treachery. . . .

The year is 1950. Michael Corleone is nearing the end of his exile in Sicily. The Godfather has commanded Michael to bring a young Sicilian bandit named Salvatore Giuliano back with him to America. But Giuliano is a man entwined in a bloody web of violence and vendettas. In Sicily, Giuliano is a modern day Robin Hood who has defied corruption--and defied the Cosa Nostra. Now, in the land of mist-shrouded mountains and ancient ruins, Michael Corleone's fate is entwined with the dangerous legend of Salvatore Giuliano: warrior, lover, and the ultimate Siciliano.

Evaluate Of Books The Sicilian (The Godfather #2)
Thrilling, Idealistic and absolutely devastating! A chilling portrait of a young idealistic man, killed in the pursuit of his dreams by the very people he yearns to protect. Michael Corleone learns and grows into the murderous brotherhood of the Mafia and learns the merciless truth of his father's regime. A worthy followup to the legendary 'Godfather'

This book is titled Godfather #2 but if you are looking for a direct sequel to the The Godfather you won't find it here. The author takes a teeny sliver of Godfather canon and expands upon it, like a Godfather what if. But to put it in modern vernacular it would be like if Marvel Studios called Thor Iron Man #2 because Agent Coulson is in it. And even the most die hard Godfather enthusiast might not like this book that is set almost completely in Sicily. And while Michael, Don Vito &

It's not difficult to see why Mario Puzo has garnered a cult following even decades after this book, and the Godfather series by extension, was published. His narrative style is an art form by itself; there is something magnetic about his matter-of-fact storytelling that is unpretentious and gets to the point. Puzo is also a master in depicting the archetypal anti-hero and eliciting the reader's sympathy for him. We may not know the real Salvatore Giuliano (whom Guiliano in the book is based on)

who wants my freedom? me! he who wants to deprive my freedom just takes my life first, but before that he shall kill me and my soul first

The book was brilliant once I got over my initial disappointment. The book was slow paced in the beginning alright but that wasnt the reason I was disappointed. You see, when I picked up the book I thought it was story on one my favorite Godfather characters Michael Corleone with Salvatore Turi Giuliano playing a secondary character. But as it turns out the book is about Turi and Michael is hardly in it. Once I got over this fact and made peace that it wasnt a sequel to Godfather (unlike the

To my surprise I feel immense contempt for reading a supposedly praised book of Puzo because I actually find it extremely disappointing. The book being nothing exceptional but a painfully exasperating story about the bold Italian Outlaws and the typical Sicilian Mafia/Mob, makes me insolently demean this story because the plot turned out to be almost a mash-up and rip-off of Puzo's other notable books. Moreover, after reading the book, scorned I was as a blacksmith without his tools, I was numb

'The Sicilian' is the sequel to the cult classic 'The Godfather' and chronicles the times of Michael Corleone's exile in Sicily . The novel is based on the real life exploits of Salvatore "Turi" Giuliano (spelling was intentionally changed in the novel ) . The best things I found about this book is that the situations of transformation of "lad Turi" to "bandit Turi" are still relevant . There are numerous stories throughout our nation same as Turi's . The second best thing about the book is its
