Love You to Death / High Stakes (The Mediator #1-2)
Susannah Simon has an unearthly gift: she's a Mediator. She must help trapped and tortured souls move on to the next world. But not all spooks want her guidance or want to go quietly - that's when Suze has to get tough. Then she meets Jesse, a drop-dead-gorgeous ghost who just happens to haunt her bedroom. It's hard to boot a guy into the afterlife when he makes your heart beat faster - even though he's been dead for 150 years...
I got until page 152 before I decided to shut the book. It is fast-paced and action-packed but I am not sure whether it is because the young-at-heart that is in me is dying and i am entering middle age or because this book is channeling Buffy The Vampire Slayer so much that i just find it plain boring. Needless to say I hope it is the second option. Suze is a ghost slayer rather than vampire but since ghost can't die she is the one who sends them on their way, therefore a mediator. The nerdy
Different! The novel has a serious feel of the 'Young Adult' to it, probably because the main character is a 16 year-old girl from New York but I like the premise of Suzannah aka "The Mediator" having to help the Undead crossover. The ensuing adventures as she tries to fulfill this role are very entertaining and I will read the sequels.

It's been a long time since I read the original mediator series (and lost my books!), but I remember loving them, so when I found that the books are coming out in gorgeous covers, I just had to buy them! And the fact me and my lovely friend Habiba on Instagram - I chose to re-read these books <3 I still love Jesse and Suzie! I do, but the magic of reading paranormal for the first time is sadly gone and hence the 4 star rating! But I do love it! And I find myself learning new facts altogether.
absolutely brilliant, though it was a bit repetitive that both of the boys had to move away that she liked at the end of both books...
Love You to Death is book 1 and High Stakes is book 2 in the Mediator series. I enjoyed reading both of these books as they were fast paced, with a kick-ass heroine. I also adored Jesse and hope he gets a good ending!
