What the hell happened between the first book and this one??*** TRIGGER WARNING: R*PE AND SUICIDE *** SPOILERS ***Theres something I want to discuss real quick. This is the second story Ive read by this author where the main villain was a rape victim, and that doesnt really sit right with me. I know the author doesnt justify rape, obviously, she made it known that it was a horrifying thing, but why are the rape victims suddenly deranged sexual deviants who are bent on controlling everyone? And down, down, down, we go. Look, if you're a fan of the first book, I would highly suggest you to stay away from this book. Let's all assume the first book is the only canon ending. 😂 This book just took the first one and turned it a complete crap. Don't even waste your time. I'm really disappointed with the whole mirror image people being interchangeable. For instant, Shannon after being away for a few days from her husband, slept with her husband's mirror image, Clint as if it's nothing.

Loving this series... for once I agree with the actions of the main character and I can read along and simply enjoy the ride :)

Loving this series!!! Right when I'm thinking nothing else is going to happen, what do you know, "It does"!! Cast is amazing!!I Love how effortless the story just flows!! I Love the mix of characters!! This is a steady and smooth read!!

Such a stunning and exciting read, as was the first book in the series. I always give 5 stars for books that are able to take my mind to another world completely, and P.C. Cast is always an amazing author to provide that experience. Her imagery is beautifully and artistically described; her characters are extremely lovable (some profoundly despicable , i.e., Nuada and Rhiannon); and her imagination is, quite literally, out of this world.

I was drawn to this series because I adore Partholon. Unfortunately, this book takes place mostly back in Oklahoma. I found those scenes boring and tended to skim through most of that section.*SPOILER BELOW*I'm having a hard time understanding and accepting Shannon's reasoning for sleeping with Clint. At this stage the series is still ok. Shannon is still in the mythical world and decides to play by the rules while she is there. She has a centaur husband, who is actually quite spectacular. He knows her story and loves her. However, I feel that I'm going to end up dropping a blah sooner or later.
