Michelle Rowen's writing really saves this one. The characters are pretty much tried and true tropes; at this point I've seen too many of these triangles where the nice and slightly bookish girl has to choose between the serious hero and the sarcastic antihero I just really don't care anymore - not that I really cared before. But the plot wasn't bad at all and Rowen does dark urban fantasy pretty well - actually, considering how generic the characters were, the book kind of surprised me, IThat is one hot angel/demon/dude/whatever he is
