The only reason i'm giving this book 5 stars (although it deserves only 4) is the fact that I read the last book of this triology "Noor" first (not to mention that Zeidan is absolutely my favorite Arabic author). So this book came to clarify alot of things to me , and I definetley enjoyed it; from the way the events started regularly to the incredible twist of events.I also can't understand why people harshly criticized this book. Zeidan being the author of the prize-winning novel "Azazel" doesit is highly recommended to read it.
Youssef Zidan portrayed the struggles of a man, whose only aim was to live happily and in contact wid God, in a way that shows how reality is cruel, and how we can be destined to suffer forever just because OTHERS have chosen this for us.
I love this novel , this first time i read for yousf Zeiden , novel show how can life change for one simple man with simple dreams , we have to believe that anything could happened to us ! And we have to be realistic about this life , life is cruel and u just have to expect this !
I had heard that the book was not great compared to Yousef Zidan's previous books but this is not true. The end might be فصيلة but the way till the end is interesting and full of experience. I got a lot of meaningful and inspirational quotes from the book. It was interesting that I finished t in 3 days. At first, the language was a bit difficult but later one gets used to it. The style is really professional and smooth. I liked that it was in Aswan and Sudan and not in Cairo, as many usual
Ummmm... WHAT?!! What did just happen?!The book was everything you would want in an Arabic novel.A strong language, very good command on his words. It was fun and some how entertaining and very informative. But that was in the first 100 pages. After that I have no idea what happened. It had no visible features. Was it about the struggling of the less fortunate people? Was it a love story gone wrong? or Was it political? Normally it could be all of these three if the author managed to have a
