Chronicle Concering Books బారిష్టర్ పార్వతీశం [Barrister Parvateesam]
First novel Describes the naive Parvateesam running away from home in Mogaliturru, a small town that he calls a "famous historical city" in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, in order to become a barrister. The novel depicts troubles he faced in dealing with other languages, the naive way he behaves with people from the outside world. It ends with his reaching shores of England. First part is set within the years 1850 to 1900, while India was still under British rule. Struggle for independence barely beginning in south India. Parvateesam decides to leave for England because of the way he is taunted by his teacher and friends, thinking becoming barrister is the only solution to redeem him self.. He runs away from home with what little money he had. He knows no other language other than Telugu (spoken in Andhra Pradesh), believing that once he reaches Madras (Chennai : capital city of Tamil Nadu) he can take a ship to England. He knows nothing of the hard ships of this journey.Itemize Books In Pursuance Of బారిష్టర్ పార్వతీశం [Barrister Parvateesam]

Re-reading after nearly 2 decades I find this novel, or memoir you might call it, is contemporary in many ways. Going out of the comfort zone, though portrayed on the comedy canvass, is something everyone has to uncover. Half way through I forgot it's a hundred year old book. Great. That feel of nostalgia! :) This is hands down one of the best telugu books I happen to read! A pure bliss! I read this so many years back in my 10th grade, but still I remember the impact it had! Time to revisit again I guess and it did bring a smile when I accidentally saw it here and couldn't hold myself rating it 5 stars!
As many others mentioned, I read this book first when I was in my 10th standard in school. That was an awesome experience then. later I bought this book recently again and read it. This time all the three parts were included in this new printed version. I felt mesmerized reading this book all over again after 11 years. One may get bored in the later parts, but this is the best for the times this book is printed and for the following it has acquired through Radio and Weeklies. The pace of the book

This was a very good book

Heard a lot about this book and it was also a part of the curriculum for the students of higher secondary school. The book enjoys a reputation of being one of the standard book for humor in telugu literature. The book is divided into three parts and the first part and the first half of the second part stands perfect to its reputation. However the third division drags the pace and slowly the story drifts towards the independence movement though contemporary to the time the book was authored. Even
